Lost in memories of days gone by
Tears softly falling from my eyes
Thinking of should haves, maybes and more
Wondering what the future has in store

For there’s too much wasted time
Lingering never being fulfilled
Time is of the essence
Dreams must be realized
Hurts and sorrows must be minimized

Opportunity is knock, knocking
Try opening the door
Why hesitate? What am I waiting for?
A brighter day and better time
Could be on the other side!

Tears are salty, bitter, yet they cleanse
Searched my soul, searched within
Found the true me, stopped the self-pity
Found the shining star, It wasn’t very far
Looked within, found the true me
